A wonderfully detailed photograph of Munichs Marienplatz, showing the Frauenkirche and Neue Rathaus (Town Hall). Building work on the Frauenkirche (Cathedral Church of our Lady) started in 1468, and the church is famous for its magnificent towers, one of which can be climbed to see fantastic views across the city towards the Alps. The Town Hall is a neo-gothic building, dating from the late 19th century and famous for its “glockenspiel”, which boasts 32 near life-size figures. Three times a day the glockenspiel bursts into life, performing for the crowds that gather in the square. The limited colour palette and many stone details will make this a challenging, but rewarding, jigsaw to complete. It would make a fantastic gift for anyone who wants to, or has, visited Munich. Finished puzzle size 69.9 x 49.7cm approximately.
