A day at the seaside is made complete by enjoying a delicious ice-cream, and the sunset Ices van is the place to go! Would you opt for an ice-cream cornet, complete with sauce and sprinkles, a 99, an ice-pop or a multi-coloured Lolly? The crazy cats are certainly enjoying everything that is on offer (including a little stick of rock) and during their day at the beach appear to have been rock-pooling, flying their kite and making sandcastles. This image is packed full of wonderful vintage details that may bring back your own memories of Happy summer days at the coast. Linda Jane comments on this new image “I wanted “sunset Ices” to give you that summer holiday feeling at the seaside. Part of it is the excitement of queuing up and deciding exactly which ice cream you want (mine was a “Fab”, though I probably changed my mind 15 times before I got to the front). I chose an ice cream van from the 1950’s because of its pastel colours and wonderful name. Details such as the enamel bucket decorated with a fishy underwater scene, and the fishing net were things that we bought with our pocket money as soon as we got there”.
